Situated in the heart of Kentucky’s famous Bluegrass region, the Polo Barn at Saxony Farm is a truly unique setting. Family owned and operated for over 45 years, this fully functioning Thoroughbred horse farm offers a one-of-a-kind venue. With both indoor and outdoor spaces available it is the perfect setting for any event. The site offers two polo barns that border a grassy area lined with mature bur oak, maple, pecan and sycamore trees.

We were able to visit The Polo Barn at Saxony Farm and talk with the owners, Broussard & Rosie Hundley about their vision for the farm.

Scenic, beautiful, accessible

Driving out to Saxony farm, just 20 minutes from downtown Lexington, I was quickly transported from city life to beautiful, quiet, countryside. One of the best things about Lexington is that a few minute drive can take you from downtown to beautiful horse country, thanks to the amazing farm owners surrounding Lexington. Rosie is passionate about helping preserve the farm, while creating truly unique experiences for her guests.

Creating sustainable experiences

Rosie was delightful, from England with a beautiful accent, and eager to talk about the farm. “Running a working farm and event venue isn’t just about making money,” she told me, “It’s about letting people come to experience the countryside and fall in love with nature.”

She walked me through the property, showing me the beautiful event venue with two barns and a soon-to-be-opened Airbnb cottage that will allow guests to spend a few days relaxing after their wedding or give them a chance to enjoy a quieter side of things while visiting nearby Keeneland.
